FINALLY

Here’s the sun
Here’s the moon
And all the stars I can gather
Here’s my night
Here’s my day
And every moment that matters
Here are the chains
Bind them tight
Wrap your lifetimes around me
Here I am
Here you are
Finally

Here’s my life
Here at last
Seems so long I’ve been waiting
Here’s my heart
Come alive
Not one beat hesitating
Here’s my hand
Read the lines
They all say you would find me
Now here I am
And here you are
Finally

Comes a moment for every soul
Can’t live alone anymore
Comes a moment for every soul
Those eyes look at you and you know

That here’s the sun
Here’s the moon
And all the stars I can gather
Here’s my life
Here’s my heart
And every moment that matters
So here’s my love
All for you
It’s always been here inside me
Now here I am
And here you are
Finally

Here’s the sun
Here’s the moon
And all the stars I can gather
Here’s my night
Here’s my day
And every moment that matters
Well here are the chains
Bind them tight
Wrap your lifetimes around me
‘Cause here I am
And here you are
Finally

AMERICAN DREAM

AMERICAN DREAM

Lyrics

AMERICAN DREAM

Yeah, Yankee doodle, Yankee doodle day
Yeah, Yankee doodle, in the USA

Momma’s in the kitchen cooking at the stove
Daddy’s screaming at the TV
Sister’s sitting pretty talking on the phone
Lil’ brother’s on his PS3
Happy Thanksgiving, let’s eat the bird
First somebody mention the Lord
Momma turn the TV up before you sit down
Daddy likes to hear every score

American Idol, Super Bowl Game
Dancing with the Hollywood stars
Preachers on the TV saving my soul
While I worship in my favorite bar
Someone change the channel, Bubba’s on nine
Sayin’ Jesus helped him beat the other team
Like God’s up there in heaven doin’ a little bettin’
And he’s backing the American Dream
Yeah, yeah he’s backing the American Dream

Nothing could be finer than American designers
It’s a pure and simple advertising truth
Bet your bottom dollar gonna pay someone to holler
‘Bout our mission to the moon and Babe Ruth
Nobody can build a bomb the way that we can build ‘em
There’s a body count dispelling any doubt
Immigrants and sinners – here we all can be a winner
Hell, we even let the gay folks out

Yeah, Yankee doodle, Yankee doodle day
Yeah, Yankee doodle, in the USA

Being on the top somebody always takes a shot
But so far nobody has taken us down
Might be China’s future, you can say whatever suits ya
But for now it’s still America’s crown
Cheney was a mad man, Bush a blind fool
No, torture’s not a thing to abide
No, no, I never would defend ‘em
But god can you imagine
If the bastards hadn’t have been on our side

American Idol, Super Bowl Game
Dancing with the Hollywood stars
Preachers on the TV selling Vitamin G
While I worship in my favorite bar
Someone change the channel, Colonel’s on nine
Sayin’ Jesus helped him beat the other team
Like God’s up there in heaven doin’ a little bettin’
And he’s backing the American Dream
Yeah, yeah he’s backing the American Dream

Yeah, Yankee doodle, Yankee doodle day
Yeah, Yankee doodle, in the USA
Yeah, Yankee doodle, Yankee doodle day
Yeah, Yankee doodle, USA – USA – USA

EDNA

EDNA
EDNA

Lyrics

EDNA (No Lord To Listen)

She walks the streets at midnight, her life bagged in her arms
Her fantasies are friendly, her memories mean her harm
She talks to make sure loneliness is always kept at bay
And if you listen closely I’m sure you’ll hear her say

“There is no Lord to listen so there is no need to pray
We’re born to begin dying and I’m well on my way”

Her words were cold and bitter when I woke her from deep sleep
Her bag clutched like a pillow, an empty bottle at her feet
I told her to be leaving before the first train came
Then I sank into her dark eyes and I swear I heard them say

“There is no Lord to listen so there is no need to pray
We’re born to begin dying and I’m well on my way”

A life of open winters was singing in her breath
The bottle was her companion, her saviour would be death
She seemed so lost and scattered that I started on my way
But I froze to hear her saying, “May you never feel the pain”

“When there is no Lord to listen so there is no need to pray
When you’re born to begin dying and you find you’re well on your way”

My money found her open, but my pity met with scorn
She said she knew some rich men who needed it much more
Though fate had not been friendly she’d fought to find her way
And when the Reaper called her she’d have no debts to pay

“Cause there is no Lord to listen so there is no need to pray
We’re born to begin dying and I’m well on my way”

I don’t know why old Edna was the one to cut my heart
I’d found so many others lying hopeless in the dark
She lifted up her bundle then she turned and walked away
I shivered, deep inside me I heard the voices say

“Is there no Lord to listen? Is there no need to pray?
Are we born to begin dying? Am I well on my way?”
